Hi, I’m Nina Porter. I’m a creative director, designer and artist living on a small island off the coast of Rhode Island.

I love working with brands that want to make something people actually notice. Maybe you’re building something from scratch, refreshing a brand that’s ready for its next chapter, launching a campaign, or just have a really good idea that needs someone to help bring it to life. That’s where I come in.

My background spans brand identity, campaigns, packaging, digital, events and creative direction. I’ve worked everywhere from Fortune 500 companies to growing brands finding their voice, but the work I love most always starts the same way: a good idea and people who are excited to make something great. Forty 9 Studio is where I bring all of that together. Strategy when we need it. Good design always. And an artist’s eye for the little things that make a brand feel like itself.

When I’m not designing, you can usually find me catching lobsters off the coast of Rhode Island, riding horses, or spending time with my bloodhound. I believe the best ideas come from having a life outside the screen, and I bring a little bit of that world into everything I make.

MFA BOSTON UNIVERSITY

I earned my MFA in Graphic Design from Boston University, graduating summa cum laude. My graduate work explored the intersection of design, sustainability and environmental responsibility, looking at how thoughtful visual communication can influence behavior and create meaningful change.
