WELCOME TO FORTY 9 STUDIO
Hi, I’m Nina Porter, the designer and creative director behind Forty 9 Studio. I have an MFA in Design and a background spanning brand identity, campaigns, digital, packaging, events and creative direction.
I’ve spent my career working across very different creative worlds, from Fortune 500 companies and global financial institutions to nationally recognized litigation firms, emerging technology companies, nonprofits and award-winning consumer brands. My work has supported C-suite executives, billion-dollar organizations, firms behind landmark recoveries, national campaigns, and brands recognized by The Dieline and Inc. 5000.
Forty 9 brings that experience to brands at every stage. I work with established companies looking for a fresh creative perspective, growing brands ready to evolve, and founders building something entirely new.
My approach is intentionally personal. I work directly with clients from the first conversation through the final detail, bringing together strategy, creative direction and design to build work that is thoughtful, distinctive and made to last.

Led Luna Bay’s creative direction across brand identity, packaging, campaigns and photography, creating a cohesive visual system that earned two Dieline Awards and helped grow the brand across digital and retail.

I earned my MFA in Graphic Design from Boston University, graduating summa cum laude. My graduate work explored the intersection of design, sustainability and environmental responsibility, looking at how thoughtful visual communication can influence behavior and create meaningful change.
